Letter from the Editor

Dear readers, welcome to the first ever edition of Potter Heads Weekly!

In 1st grade my dad commenced our first reading journey: The Harry Potter series. Initially I hated it. I just wasn’t interested in the young wizard who lived in a cupboard under the stairs... but Dad continued to read and I continued to listen. Soon I found myself actually enjoying it! We would read almost every night until we’d finish the book... and then we would start the next.
I think that’s what started my love of reading. After we finished the Harry Potter books (and reread them) I strove to find something that compared to the Potter series, but never could. Now, to this day my Harry Potter obsession lives on (and always will). The books helped me discover my interest in reading and my taste in novels. And it’s for these reasons that I strongly urge everyone to read Harry Potter. Potter has reached the point that they’re now considered classics: a must read series and one of the best book series to get kids hooked on reading. So please, hop onto the Hogwarts Express and read the Harry Potter books! (That is a joke you’ll only understand if you read Potter.) P.S Watching the movies does not count.

Sincerely,
Laura Thompson
