On opening day, fans lined up to be the first to see the movie they’d been waiting for almost six years. Though it was quite successful, the movie made only $29.7 million its first day, which is the second lowest grossing film of the Potter series; followed by Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets at $29.6 million. It grossed about $76 million on its opening weekend in Canada and U.S. Since then, the film has made over $800 million worldwide.
